Terms and Conditions
The following GEICO Coverage Verification Site – Terms and Conditions apply to access
and usage by you of certain policyholder insurance coverage information on the GEICO
Coverage Verification Site ("Verification Site") maintained by Government Employees
Insurance Company and its affiliates ("GEICO"). The Verification Site is intended
to be used by an employee of either a company that has a vehicle lien or lease agreement
in effect with one or more GEICO policyholders ("Company") or a company that provides
tracking services to such Company ("Tracking Company") or a vehicle dealership ("Dealer").
By using the Verification Site, you agree, both individually and on behalf of your
Company, Tracking Company, or Dealer as applicable, (Collectively "You") to these
Terms and Conditions.
GEICO intends to make insurance coverage information available on the Internet,
to be accessed through the Verification Site, regarding policyholders of GEICO who
have a vehicle lien or lease agreement in effect with Company or who have recently
purchased a vehicle from Dealer. The stated purpose of this interface is to permit
Company or Tracking Company or Dealer to verify insurance coverage information as
to those policyholders and to permit selected lienholder or lessor information to
be updated online.
Section 1
You agree that You will only access information about individuals (a) with whom
Company has a vehicle lien or lease agreement in effect; or, (b) who recently purchased
a vehicle from Dealer, if You are employed by dealer; and only for the purpose of
verifying insurance coverage or updating lienholder or lessor information. You further
agree that You will not disclose or use any of the information provided to You or
Company or Tracking Company or Dealer by GEICO except for the stated purpose of
verifying insurance coverage or updating lienholder or lessor information.
Section 2
You agree that You will utilize all reasonable security protocols required by GEICO
for the purpose of protecting the privacy of GEICO's policyholders and/or the integrity
of GEICO's information and systems and that You will maintain the confidentiality
of your Password.
Section 3
All information provided to You by GEICO, or that You view, print, or download while
accessing the verification Site, is confidential and may not be copied, posted,
transmitted or used in any manner except as provided in Section 1, above. You understand
that You may not use GEICO's service marks, logos, or any of GEICO's copyrighted
material without GEICO's written consent.
Section 4
GEICO may modify these Terms and Conditions, and the agreement they create, at any
time simply by updating this posting or the information on the Verification Site
and without additional notice to You.
Section 5
If any provision of this agreement is unlawful, void or unenforceable, it shall
not affect the validity and enforceability of any remaining provisions.
Section 6
This agreement is to be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the internal
laws of the state of Maryland without regard to the conflicts of law principles
thereof. The parties hereby agree that the exclusive venue for any action brought
in connection with this Agreement shall be a state or federal court in Montgomery
County, Maryland.
Section 7
GEICO SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY FAILURE TO PROVIDE THE ELECTRONIC ACCESS CONTEMPLATED
BY THIS AGREEMENT, WHETHER SUCH FAILURE RESULTS FROM THE INTENTIONAL OR UNINTENTIONAL
MALFUNCTION OF THE VERIFICATION SITE OR GEICO'S DECISION TO DISCONTINUE PROVIDING
THE INFORMATION THROUGH THE INTERNET OR ANY OTHER CAUSE WHATSOEVER.
YOU AGREE AND UNDERSTAND THAT GEICO ATTEMPTS TO MAINTAIN, BUT DOES NOT WARRANT,
THE TIMELINESS OR ACCURACY OF INSURANCE COVERAGE INFORMATION PROVIDED TO COMPANY.
GEICO RESERVES THE RIGHT TO BASE COVERAGE IDECISIONS ON VERIFIED CURRENT INFORMATION.
OUR CONFIRMATION OF COVERAGE ON AN EXISTING VEHICLE(S) DOES NOT IMPLY THAT COVERAGE
WILL APPLY TO A NEW VEHICLE OR THAT CANCELLATION OF COVERAGE IS NOT PENDING.
Section 8
You shall indemnify and hold GEICO harmless against all loss and expense resulting
from any claims arising from your use of the Verification Site or any data obtained
there from.
Section 9
It is expressly understood and agreed that nothing herein shall create the relationship
between GEICO and You of partner, agent, or legal representative of the other.
